currently selling on Ebay 'Mens vintage ulysse nardin wrist watch' - whilst on ebay it is 'offers from £845', for this forum i would remove the listing from ebay if you paid £799=a bargain!
Description: A very attractive watch from the historic Ulysse Nardin Watch maker in Switzerland. This watch which was produced in the late 40's and is in excellent condition. A MINT dial, signed case and a signed fully working movement. It has been in Mappin and Webb (a premier watch company in the UK - www.mappin-and-webb.co.uk )
with their head watch restorer in Edinburgh for 3 months to restore it.
The watch comes with a letter from Mappin and Webb to state it has recently been fully restored.
Dial: The 2 tone silver dial is in super condition. The dial has an outer KPH scale in black an inner seconds track in black. The dial has luminous Arabic numerals for hour markers and is fully signed. The dial features 2 inset chrono registers at the 3 & 9 o'clock positions and is complemented with attractive period hands.
Movement: The manual wind Ulysse Nardin SIGNED 17 Jewel chronograph movement is in excellent condition, the chrono functions start, stop and reset (sometimes the minute counter dial resets ever so slightly of '0' however this is extremely minor and i do not see this as an issue).
Case: The SIGNED Ulysse Nardin case is in excellent condition. It measures a large 37mm including the crown and 41mm to the tips of lugs.
Crown: The crown on the watch fully works however as it does not appear to be the original one (it does not look out of place but just not marked UN) i sourced a vintage/ original crown – simple for a watch repairer to attach however I have run out of money hence why I have not done it.
Strap/Bracelet: The watch is supplied with a gorgeous top of the range black leather strap. It took 10 weeks for the custom strap to be made by
www.watchnetwork.com . They are based in USA however they actually send the order to France for it to be made there.
The buckle is original silver Ulysse Nardin (I purchased the buckle directly from Ulysse Nardin a few years ago).
The strap cost approximately (including the cost of the buckle) $420 USD.

Colour: shiny black full grain alligator
Bombe Ronde with folded edges and 4mm padding
Additional strap holes added
Length: Men's L-125x85mm
Keeper style: 1 fixed & 1 loose
Stitching: Hand
Stitching Color: Same color
It also comes with a secondary standard leather strap i.e. the second strap is not a ulysse nardin strap.
This second strap is of average quality whilst the main strap, mentioned above, is of excellent quality.
Box: Also included is a Ulysse Nardin Watch Box bought specifically to sweaten/improve this auction.
Reason for Selling: Really sad to see it go however I need the money.
Condition: As detailed throughout this description i can state the watch is in excellent condition.
The watch only came back from Mappin and Webb a few weeks ago and I have only worn it a handful of times since.
Photos: Please note the photos were taken BEFORE the watch was sent away to Mappin and Webb for restoration and BEFORE the new Ulysse Nardin watch strap was added.
The photos were taken by an amateur photographer friend of mine as my camera skills are poor. i.e. the watch is now in a better condition than the photos show.
Grab yourself a bargain – you do see several Ulysse Nardin watches advertised on ebay, and some are slightly cheaper than this watch, however they often do not have original workings, beautiful straps, in excellent condition, fully restored, Ulysse Nardin Box, etc which this watch is. To get a cheaper vintage Ulysse Nardin watch and then transform it in to A grade condition would cost more than I am selling this watch for. Couple that with the fact this is an extremely rare Ulysse Nardin example and you have yourself a bargain!

To the European and American watch Afficionados – You are getting a deal due to the condition (detailed above) and also due to the exchange rate having devalued by around 1/4 over the past few months and so you are saving around 25% on the watch value when compared to a few months ago.
