Svend Andersen Platinum World Time

This extremely elegant worldimer made by one of the greatest independents is one of a limited edition of only 20 watches in platinum. Unlike most worldtimers the complication does not add to the thickness of the watch and there is no side button - everything is controlled via the crown (which moreover is screw-in making the watch water resistant). The movement is a slow beating automatic with an unusually large balance and high grade finish. The watch celebrates the 1884 conference in Washington which established the world time standards and for that reason Greenwich and Washington are marked with white gold dots on the dial (and New York gets replaced by Washington on the city ring). I would encourage you to read more about the watch and the amazing career of Svend Andersen in the book "Masters of Contemporary Watchmaking" by Michael Clerizo. The watch is like new except for a few hairline scratches on the back that are only (barely) noticeable at certain light. It comes on an unworn "Andersen Geneva" grey alligator strap with the original solid platinum buckle. It also comes with the original papers and the box which looks like a piece in a vintage travel set. The watch is located in New York and I am only interested in doing a face-to-face deal locally.
