📖 About This Reference

The Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust reference 17013 represents a distinctive chapter in the brand's history, offering a quartz-powered alternative within the Datejust collection. This reference stands out due to its integrated bracelet and case design, which is unique to the Oysterquartz line, differentiating it from the more common mechanical Datejust models. It provided a contemporary option for consumers seeking the precision and convenience of quartz technology during its production era. This reference features a 36mm case crafted from a combination of stainless steel and 18k yellow gold, paired with an 18k yellow gold fluted bezel. Powering the watch is the Rolex Caliber 5035, a quartz movement developed in-house by Rolex. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal, ensuring durability and scratch resistance. It offers a water resistance rating of 100 meters, suitable for everyday wear. For collectors, the Oysterquartz 17013 holds a particular appeal as a less common and historically significant Rolex model. Its integrated bracelet design and quartz movement make it a unique piece within the broader Rolex catalog, representing the brand's exploration of quartz technology. The availability of multiple dial color options allowed for personalization, contributing to its varied presence in the secondary market.
