Description

Looking for a Patek Philippe 5960P blue or grey dial in very good condition or better with box and papers. face-to-face in London or Western Europe preferred.

Aiming to buy from a private seller for a mid market price while avoiding auction house premium.

Recent auction results at Sotheby's and Christie's were around USD 63,000 which include a 25% buyer's premium going to the auction house. So, 50k sounds about right.

📖 About This Reference

The Patek Philippe reference 5960P represents a platinum-cased complications watch within the manufacture's lineup. Distinguished by its 40.5mm case diameter and gray dial configuration, this reference combines annual calendar and chronograph functions in a single timepiece. Production spanned fifteen years from 2006 through 2021. The 40.5mm platinum case houses the automatic caliber CH 28-520 QA 24H movement, providing 55 hours of power reserve. Technical specifications include a fixed bezel, sapphire crystal, and 30-meter water resistance. comment For the right price I would sell my perfect example. However I have never seen in the UK one available anywhere close to what you are looking to pay. That price you quote at auction was amazing I can only think a really bad day. I would sell for £40,000.00 I know that is a fair price. Thanks

comment Thanks for the feedback, Kevin.
I think to get to prices of £40,000 in the private sellers market we would need to see a big move in Swiss Francs.
Excluding the buyer's premium and converting to Sterling the three auction results come out to be £31,250 at Sotheby's on 4th Dec 2012 and at Christie's £30,700 on 30th May 2012 and £32,200 on 2nd June 2010.
That looks pretty consistent.

chrono24.co.uk has about 4 or 5 offers at £40,000 from professional sellers earning a living with it.

Low to mid 30s could work.

comment I would say you need to top up about about 5k and you might be able to find one. if anyone offers you one around 50 be careful because thats pretty cheap

comment I am in the position of selling my brand new 5960P. Never worn and certificate dated in December 2012. But to be honest I would be asking considerably more than £40,000 considering RRP in UK is £64,100.
