Vintage Tachydate
I was in Vegas for a bachelor party last week. Before the party arrived, I had an afternoon of leisure to enjoy. Rather than hitting the tables, I paid a visit to a few boutiques.
Unfortunately I did not have the sound judgment to snap many photos, but I did take a reasonable picture of this beautiful rose gold chronograph, which I'd like to share.

Within the Villeret range, the Vintage Tachydate is one of my favorites. Of the watches utilizing the larger of the two Villeret chronograph movements, the Vintage Tachydate is the smallest and thinnest. By no means is this a small watch, but it wearable on my small wrist - this cannot be said of any other Villeret watches with the in-crown monopusher movement. The blued hands and lacquered numerals are superb in-person and the movement finishing is, of course, sublime.
Although a matter of opinion, my opinion is that the Vintage Tachydate compares very favourably to the dress chronographs offered by Patek, Vacheron and Lange. In particular, those who are considering the Vacheron Harmony chronograph next year should cross shop it against this watch. Montblanc is not offering as innovative a movement, but the dial is superbly rich and warm.
The price to quality ratio is excellent, as long as you are blind to the name on the dial. While out of my price range, I hope this particular watch, sitting in Montblanc's boutique in the Palazzo luxury mall, finds a good home soon.
