A few new colors of the Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date
Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date: a fusion of past and present
The new limited-edition duo merges retro forms and the
colours of progress
What is the colour of time? Every year, the limited special editions
of the Seventies
Chronograph Panorama Date answer this question. In a square case
with rounded
corners – the epitome of futuristic design in the 1970s – they merge
retro character
with the bold colours of the dials. In this latest edition they
blend past and present
as never before: Iconic Seventies design encounters two of today’s
most exciting
colours. The dials in purple “Plasma” and lime green “Fusion” are
inspired by
visions of virtual worlds. They go to the heart of our time – while
offering a
foretaste of the future.
From virtual to real space
The two new special editions of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama
Date feature
names intentionally left open to interpretation. “Plasma” describes
an intense shade of
purple, while “Fusion” signals bright yellow-green. Since the
colours change with
differences in perspective and the way light strikes them, the
“true” colour of the dials lies
in the eye of the beholder. Both colours are certainly in tune with
contemporary vibes.
They represent a vision of the future in which the real and the
digital worlds go hand in
hand. Often enough, illustrative images of futuristic scenarios
shimmer in violet or lime
green. Glashütte Original transports these two colours from the
virtual into the real world,
where their brilliance and relevance endure – unlike many
digital visions.

Confident colours and shapes
The lacquered dials of both models are crafted in Glashütte
Original’s own dial
manufactory, which celebrated its official opening in June 2025. A
velvety matt surface
texture gives the luminous colours an elegant finish, suitable for a
wide range of
occasions. The two totalisers present a galvanic black “vinyl”
decorative finish, matching
the colour of the Panorama Date at 6 o’clock. The dial is framed by
the softly rounded
corners and striking lines of the polished and satin-brushed
stainless steel case, whose
40 x 40 mm dimensions are a good match for every wrist. Its
impressive design is
perfectly complemented by two different strap options: matt black
rubber or a metal
bracelet with fine adjustment mechanism.

Seventies rhythms
Ticking inside the stylish retro-chronograph is the clearly
contemporary Glashütte
Original movement Calibre 37-02, featuring automatic winding and a
flyback function –
crafted, finished and regulated by hand in the workshops of the
German manufactory.
Its resilience and precision are made to meet the demands of
everyday life today: up to
70 hours running time and water resistance up to 10 bar.
The flyback mechanism combines the classic stop function with
exceptional efficiency: a
single press of the pusher at 4 o’clock stops the running
chronograph, resets to zero and
immediately restarts it – with no loss of time and no cumbersome
detours. On the back,
the sapphire crystal offers unhindered views of the mechanical
heart of the watch whose
robustness and refined decorative finishes are equally impressive:
the stripe finish on the
Glashütte three-quarter plate, the skeletonised rotor with
Double-G symbol, the bevelled
and polished edges, and the blued screws. The Seventies
Chronograph Panorama Date
offers irrefutable evidence, once again, of style, speed and the
high art of German
watchmaking.

The two new Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date models in "Plasma"
and "Fusion,"
each limited to 100 pieces, will be available starting August 14,
2025, in all Glashütte
Original Boutiques and from selected retailers worldwide. Are you
ready for the future?
