3rd winding wheel

Hi,

first, welcome here at WatchProSite!

I am not sure about the sound because that is hard to hear in the videos. But as far as I remeber none of the Senator Excellent watches I ever handled made any sounds except ticking.

It is by design that the 3rd wheel is moving back and forth when you are winding the watch manually. You will notice that the mainplate is cut out accordingly to give space to this movement.
This little moving of the wheel connects the winding train whith the barrel while you are turning the crown clockwise and locks the barrel when you stop winding.
This replaces the traditional detent click that prevents the mainspring from from unwinding instantly.
With this design Glashütte Original aimed at making the movement as stable as possible by removing parts that could possibly be removed. (What is not there cannot break.)

Best,
Martin

P.S: I am confident that the guys you are asking for help in your first post would appreciate a little introduction of yourself smile
