I left a message with Swatch and am still waiting to hear back. I also talked to the store where I purchased it. The latter has been happy to help, even though its outside the 12 month warranty they normally offer; but before I decide a course regarding servicing, I wanted to be sure about the issue.

Senator Chronometer: Sluggish Date Change via Pusher

 By: telackey : December 8th, 2022-21:59
I was setting the date on my GO Senator Chronometer today with the pusher, and it did something rather odd. When I pressed the pusher, it would move the date about half way after release, then slowly, taking a second or more, finally snap the rest of the ...

I have never encountered this issue on the SCs I have owned

Commonly, I push the corrector button in, and as I pull the tool off, the date moves instantly. Did yours work like that initially? I would try using the crown to wind through a few date changes. See if it jumps instantly in that manner.

Yes, it seems to jump instantly as I manually turn the hands past midnight. As to whether it was always instant with the pusher, no, it never has been, but I bought it used. It was, however, still pretty snappy; but slow enough you could see the disc turn...

12:01

I just watched it change naturally, and the date flipped precisely at 12:01. Something definitely a bit fishy going on. It wasn't sluggish though, it snapped instantly.

That is not normal.

No, that is not normal. The date must always change as a whole, regardless of whether it changes by itself, you change the date using the corrector, or it changes by adjusting the hands. You should submit the watch for inspection.

Can anyone confirm that when changing naturally (eg, just running) the date changes at 12:00 vs 12:01?

I will try to check this on mine later in the week

I don't have it handy but will get it later this week and see how it changes.

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. Mine also changes at 12:01am

It flips instantly, as it does when using the quick change corrector. It seems the only issue on yours might be the rapid change. I would inquire with GO and see what they say. Good luck and keep us posted!

Swatch

I contacted Swatch, and mentioned both details. They didn't actually respond about the sluggish pusher change, but they did about 12:01 and also confirmed that 12:01 is normal.

I am glad to hear it.

I also feel 12:01 is within a normal / acceptable range. You solution seems easy, just wear it every day and you will almost never need the rapid change!! ;-)

Not a bad idea...

 By: telackey : December 29th, 2022-00:36
FWIW, I have been wearing just it over the holidays. I set it against an atomic clock 12/24, and I just checked its time this evening. To my eye it looks perfect, but at the very least is can't be off more by more than a fraction of a second in > 4 days. ...

Did you contact Glashutte Original directly?

I've found their servicing department was easy to deal with in the past. They would probably be able to answer questions if the local Swatch service centre is unresponsive.

No, not yet.

 By: telackey : December 28th, 2022-18:15
No, I hadn't done it yet. I ran out of time before the holidays, and figured I would follow up after the New Year. I contacted them once about strap dimensions though, and they were very helpful. I'll see about giving them a call.

GO customer service

 By: epigram : January 8th, 2023-23:46
Date change should be instantaneous using the pusher. This is the case for all the GO I have. Have you managed to follow up? I find GO customer service top notch. When the local Swatch center seems to take longer to respond (especially for calibres where ...
