Patek Philippe

Two questions on Cal. 12-120

Hello,

I have 2 questions on the 12-120 movement.

1. In an earlier posting in this forum somebody warns against using vintage watches with a 12-120 movement,
because it has no incablock anti-shock system. This scares me a little. Are they really at risk when used daily?

2. Some of these movements only have "Patek Philippe and Co, Geneve" and the serial number stamped on them,
some additionally have "Adjusted to 5 positions,..."
and some have also the Geneva seal.
The strange thing is that you see earlier numbers
with all three items stamped and later numbers with only the first. What is the meaning of this?

Thank you, Bart
