In Patek Philippe Volume II Number 7
one article dedicates to the new Patek 5960...page 61
inside describes :
Article: " The particular technical construction of this movement lets the owner use the central sweep seconds hand EITHER as a running indication of time or as (flyback) seconds counter for the chronograph."
My question is : When the chronograph is NOT in motion, how is the central sweep seconds hand act as a running indication of time ???
Once you stop the chronograph, the center seconds hand will not be in motion. Then how can that seconds hand be activated ??
Lets say the actual time before you activate the chronograph is 12:30PM
a. how do we know how many seconds ? if the sweep second hand is NOT in motion
If you play with the chronograph for 5 minutes, once you finish and stops. The sweep seconds hand should return to the 12 position.
The hour and minute hands should indicate 12:35PM.
b. how do we know how many seconds ? if the sweep seconds hand is NOT in motion
Is there a button where you can release the sweep seconds hand without activating the chronograph function ??
Or we are suppose to let the chronograph function runs simultaneously with the chronograph function in order for sweep seconds hand to act as a running indicator ???
Article : " When the owner stops the chronograph, two clamps lift the clutch disk off the fourth wheel, which continues rotating without interruption."
I hope my questions makes sense, greatly appreciate if someone can explain in a more detail form. Or just call me crazy.
Thank you
