Question for 3738 and 5758 owners....
Is is fair to presume that:
1) both of these references have a *two part* case contruction where the upper section contains the integrated bezel and crystal.
2) the lugs that hold the strap are actually a part of (i.e they are welded) to the lower portion of the case? (Picture credit to the OP)

Oh, now I understand the reason of your question and your exact intent.
This is a very original project you have and the 3605 should indeed be compatible with it. I personally like the solid case back of the 3738/5738, which I see as a wonderful opportunity for a meaningful engraving (I dream of the 5738/1R with a celebration...
Already did 6 of them that were LOT more complex. It should be relatively easy for 3605.
.....now I just need to find the watch 😎 ...
