Patek Philippe

Patek winder running non-stop.

Dear Fellow Patek fans:

Recently I decided to use one of my older style Patek winders (small reddish leather cubical box, which runs on batteries only). I put my watch on it, and for 5 hrs it was running at 2 rpm, non-stop. This means 2x60x24=2880 revolutions per day. Somehow it appears excessive number of rotations to me. Does this winder ever stop and rest a while ?

I cannot imagine winding the watch continuously for months and months when I am traveling.

Any comments on related experiences with Patek winders will be appreciated.

Cheers. Jim
