Omega Constellation C 's
Dear Omega Vintage collectors, After viewing a few posts of Constellation C 's on this forum recently , I chanced upon a small shop with 2 Constellation C 's for sale.
One is steel and i think it is ref. 168.017 with 564 movement, but is non quickset , so it cannot be a 564 but a 561 ? . Instead of having baton hands, it has dauphine hands with tritium insert in the middle of the hands. No onyx in the middle of baton hour markers but tritium instead. Was dauphine hands ever offered for a non Q/S and with tritium for the Constellation C ?
The second watch is also a Constellation C , gold capped with a brown spider web dial, which looks like shiny enamel ( fine cracks or crazing on dial and looks quite nice, like the so called spider web dials on vintage rolex ) .This watch has quickset and a smooth bezel. I checked the Omega book , journey through time, and found a ref.CD 168.027 illustrated with 564 movement and with a moire maroon dial with gold baton hands. The watch in the illustration have a serrated bezel, but other than the serrated dial looks similar to the watch offered for sale.
Unfortunately, this shop 's offerings are not on the web. If need be, I may have to visit again with my camera so I can post some photos.
Any help and comments are greatly appreciated.
Cheers,dreamer
