Seems that even we older types actually can learn new tricks, and that there's more than one way to see the world. I've been a yellow gold/white dial guy for about..., well, let's just say a LOT of years. My everyday watch has been a reference 5030. Today I received my reference 5085-1A, stainless case, black dial, asymetric layout, contemporary as can be. Amazing piece - I love it. After owning an older Concord with a black dial that served best as a mirror, I swore off black. The 5085, however, is clear and legible. My point? Try something daring - at least when next in a Patek dealer's shop, try on something different that you would never ordinarily be attracted to and see how good it will make you feel. Perhaps something in a Minute Repeater!?! Thanks for a great forum. Michael.
