Newbie Seeks Advice on Ref.570 Dial

The dial on my 1957 Calatrava has developed some brownish specks and discoloration on a segment of its periphery. Not too obvious, but noticeable on close scrutiny. A local repair shop owner says the blemish is on the surface of the dial, not on the underside of the crystal. He says it was caused by moisture condensation. He says the only way to remove it is to have the dial refinished. But he advised against that because it would be obvious to any knowledgeable collector that the dial face was non-original and its value would be diminished. In other words, "Live with it!"
