Choosing between a 5100 or 5059???
I've been offered for sale a pre-owned 5100 YG and also a pre-owned 5059 in PG. Both are in pristine condition with box and papers and the quoted prices are about the same give or take 1K.
I've tried both on and like em both but can only have one for sake of wife's sanity and would appreciate any thoughts on which one to go for. I've come up with the following pros and cons:
PP 5100
Pro: 1. Limited edition
2. Distinctive case shape/Art Deco styling
3. 10 day power reserve
4. Future price appreciation
Cons: 1. Price has appreciated alot (compared to MSRP)
2. Limited functions
3. Am a WG/PG person
PP 5059
Pro: 1. Perpetual Functions
2. Classic Styling (Thick casing really shows of the PG hue is a bonus)
Cons: 1. Already own a PP Perpetual (5040) and one feels like enough?
2. Not as rare as the 5100?
Am very distressed, any comments most welcome!!
