Zenith

Captain Dual Time

Hello all. This is my very first post on this forum about my very first Zenith purchase. I have always had some peculiar, almost mystical form of attraction towards this manufacturer but have been waiting until they released the kind of watch I wanted from them. Went to my AD with the firm intention to get the wonderful Transocean Chronograph from Breitling but couldn't help being hypnotized by the subtle yet sublime good taste displayed by the Captain Winsor on the shelf.

Unfortunately, despite it being a 42mm case, the lack of bezel and the indexes set near the edge of the dial made it appear a bit too big on the wrist for my taste, especially considering it isn't a chunky sports watch. Looked quite larger than the Transocean which, paradoxically, got a 43mmØ case. I asked to see the Dual Time version but they didn't have one in store. After browsing a few pictures on the net I knew that was the watch I had been waiting for and, for the first time in my life, I ordered a watch without even seeing it in person before. Once I picked it up it even surpassed my initial expectations. The slight iridescent colors reflecting on the silver dial under hard light contributes to its ethereal appeal, with some remote cues from Breguet. I also ordered it with black croc instead of dark brown which, in my opinion, suits the silver dial better.

Here I post a few pictures under difficult lighting conditions, for the most part.

Thanks for reading!
Ted
