I have always wanted a Patek and thinking that they have long been out of my reach (financially), I would only look at them with wanting eyes through the glass of a Tiffany's display case. It wasn't until I sold my firm and came into excess liquidity, that I decided to reward myself. After looking at seven separate models, it was the Calatrava 3919 that caught my eye. Here was a wonderfully simple watch with unsurpassed elegance. I was shocked to find that it was Patek's least expensive watch - something so beautiful surely would be extraordinarily expensive. I have had it now for nine years and it has given me years of wonderful usage and I must say, I have never doubted the purchase once.
Since my Patek purchase, I have purchased two Girard Perregaux's, a Breitling Navitimer (I am pilot and this was a gift from my wife) and a stainless steel Zenith which I have also been surprisingly satisfied with.
My question is this - for a watch that has given me so much joy, I know so little about my Patek. I don't even know anything about it's movement. Surely there most be somewhere that I could learn more about this fine instrument.
I would greatly appreciate anyone sending me information or directing me to information about this watch and it's movement - after nine years of service, I am interested in knowing more about my watch.
Kindest regards,
