Buying second-hand PP question

Hello,

I just found this forum and wanted to ask for advice: I am thinking of buying a second-hand PP watch but I first would like to make sure that it's not a stolen or a lost one, and that it could sent to Geneva for repair without any worries. The seller doesn't have any papers nor the box, just the watch. The watch will definitely need to have a complete maintenance done. My question is this, before paying this guy money, is their a way for me to find out if this watch is reported as lost/stolen by a serial number? The last thing I want to happen is to pay this guy money and then have the watch confiscated by PP once it gets to Geneva due to being reported as lost or stolen.

Thank you!
