Gentlemen: I have been lurking for a while and have enjoyed the discussions and would benefit from your advice. I am very new to watch collecting. I have a Rolex sport model but am interested in purchasing a dress watch to complement it. I am particularly interested in two models: The PP 5127G and the Blancpain 2763-1127A triple-calendar moon phase. These are admittedly hard to compare: the Patek is white gold whereas the Blancpain is steel, and Patek is Patek whereas Blancpain is not. On the other hand, the Blancpain is also beautiful, has more complications, and costs less than half as much. I find it hard to choose. Apart from the preciousness of the metal, what other advantages do you see in the Patek? (I would post the same question on the Blancpain forum, but it appears that visitors to that forum are rare.) Thanks for any advice you can give.
