All,
A quick question. I have been collecting IWC for some time now and have decided to draw the line under 5 of my favourite watches- basically I have a watch box with 5 spaces and wish to put 5 watches that truly represent IWC into it. Once done I'll move on to new brands but will always have the feeling that I have the complete IWC collection.
I know this is a crazy idea but work with me!!! I have narrowed down my colelction to;
Port Cal. 51011- to me this represents the new dawn of IWC
Inge Cal. 80110- as an engineer this watch in Ti makes sense, and combines both IWC case making abilities and Inge history
FA Jones- I wish I could find / afford a jubilee, but I cannot so this is the next best thing!
Pilot chrono spilt- the highlight of the 80s, a great engineering solution to a well defined problem, which most thought was already solved
And a dive watch- possibly the new aqua timer, possibly the model two versions ago.
So what do the good folks of this forum think? Does this represent a good spread of IWC watches? My per watch limit is normally 10k. I have some of the watches above and will be selling others to complete the "perfect IWC watch box". I know I am missing the perpetual cal' but such is life- may favourite version of this is the base cal. 5000,but it is out of my price range, the other ETA bases do not do much for me.
My thought process is to look at the perfect 5 watch omega collection next- what with the world coming to an end and all I thought money might become an issue- but never quality.
