5970R vs. J
This may be a silly question, but are the dials of these two watches identical save the difference between rose and yellow gold? I have only seen them in pictures and it's difficult to tell.
I'm typically a rose gold fan, but for some reason the 5970J seems to appeal to me more although I don't notice any difference between them.

Hi, I think they are identical. I share your position as the J 5970 appealed me a lot for a yellow gold watch. This colour goes very well with the "vintage" style of the watch IMO. Cheers Dje

I also read the j is the most limited of the reference as most were white or rose. Interestingly, yellow gold has of late gained popularity over white in jewelry over all, not just watches.
Yes dials look the same.
I prefer this in white metal, but if I had to go with yellow or red...I'd go yellow.
I only care about what pleases my eyes.....Always have always will.....And for this.......
these 2 are the only ones for me ................I care nothing about which was made in fewer numbers.....Only what pleases my eyes..... The quality of my shirt however is is disgrace . For me the best 5970`s.... M....

Date ring
Miles, Beautiful watches. I've been meaning to ask for some time - in the platinum version is the date ring of slightly larger font than the other metals or is this an optical illusion for me due to the higher contrast of the white on black? Thanks.
