Banter99 initiates a comparative discussion between Zenith and Patek Philippe, focusing on value propositions and brand perception. This thread explores how collectors weigh factors like movement heritage, brand prestige, and specific design elements when evaluating watches at different price points. The original post uses a concise, almost poetic format to highlight the perceived disparity in cost versus tangible features.

If the zenith is smaller & less thick then sad to say my beloved brand pp is less appealing or attractive. Movement wise the 324 of patek philippe is a proven mechanism to me as i have a calatrava 5296r & its really well made. The pilot's watch of pp is luminous model which is good. Although i still have to see it in the flesh. Just some insights to share. Best Geross
It smaller than a Zenith (being at 42 mm) and for me that is a big plus, and btw the price is about 1000 CHF per mm (not a rumor, but simply reading the price list given by PP at Baselworld). I don't think I will get one but I can see it being a big hit somehow, the details of the dial are really nice. It is a crossover between a pilot watch and a travel watch - compare to a Zenith, you won't look like a zeppelin movement is too small for the case but hey, the watch does not deserve such a bash
if we leave all kinds of speculations aside. Best, Kari
I like, but for different reasons. Can we compare the watches shown? No, not if we look closer. Maybe it works on the first view ... Cheers, Oliver
... but the one thing that I cannot unsee are the unsightly correctors on the left hand side of the Patek case. The design is unfortunate and can imagine how uncomfortable it might be for some wearers.
