My desire for this watch has never been a secret, back to its launch in 2001.  When this new blackened titanium version randomly appeared several weeks back on the UN website, I was done.  I immediately knew this was The Freak for me.

I ordered it through the OUTSTANDING Ulysse Nardin Boutique in New York City, The Boutiques at 50 Central Park South.  Nelson Lucero is the VP of Sales for Ulysse Nardin, and he was able to secure #44 for me.  I happen to be turning 44 in April.  I have never bought such a present for myself, but everything sort of fell into place.

I really am awestruck by this watch.  The depth is magnificent, and reminds you there is no dial on this watch.  The case is very lightweight, you hardly feel it on, and the new strap looks awesome.

I have only had time for some quick snaps.  More than any other I can think of, this is a watch that must be tried on to appreciate and understand.  The photos just don't capture the feel, and especially not the depth.

Thanks again to Nelson and The Boutiques at 50 CPS for this...

Isn't she spectacular?

I have to add one small bit.  Years ago, I used to share occasional messages with Mr. Rolf Schnyder.  I had great admiration for this man, and what he did for Ulysse Nardin.  His Legacy is quite alive and well in my eyes.  I told him one day I would own a Freak...  Dear Rolf, I know you are looking down... I did it!

The Diavolo goes even another step

I am not sure it is necessary on The Freak, but it sure is impressive!
