Heartbreaker shares his excitement and detailed unboxing experience after winning a double watch winder in a Bulgari-themed contest hosted by moderator pingtsai. This post captures the joy of receiving a watch accessory and provides a thorough look at the winder's design, features, and initial placement within his home.
On the 5th of September, our dear moderator pingtsai has launched a
contest: she wanted to hear about what we like or admire the most about Bulgari and why. The winner would have had a very nice double watch winder. A lot of very interesting articles were posted: this means that Bulgari is loved a lot, as a smart and intriguing Brand.
On the 17th of September, the winner of the contest was proclaimed: it was ME! WOOOOW!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH, PING!!!
Two days ago the watch winder arrived, after a long flight from California to Sicily. I'm sorry I couldn't post any message before today and now I want to show you how I've given the deserved welcome to the prize.
The unwrap process was very fast, since I was ultra-excited. Obviously, the package was very well made and the watch winder traveled very comfortably.
Et-voilà: the prize is naked for the first time! Please, notice the carbon fiber finish of the wooden housing!
Let's take a look at the back side of the piece, where we find: the name of the Constructor (Tech Swiss, from California); the chromed 5-positions switches (to turn on the two watch winders and select one of the 4 pre-programmed modes); the motors' covering and the power jack. In my experience, when it comes to electronic devices, you can appreciate the quality of a product looking at their back: in this case I've noticed a very pleasant finish with perfect joints and very robust control swithes with an excellent tactile feeling.
The watch winder with all of its accessories: the crystal door keys, the user's manual, the adapter, a pair of cotton watch handling gloves, a microfibre watch cleaning cloth, an hex allen key (to open the motors' covering).
OK, now the watch winder is a family member and deserves a special place. What about the bedroom's tallboy, near a ceramic vase from Erice?
The next step inevitably was to put two watches on the watch holders. Well, not exactly two "watches", since I've put my trustworthy Omega Speedmaster Day Date and the plastic prototype of the timepiece designed by me (hopefully, it would be ready within September 2014). Unfortunately, I've forgotten to remove the proto, so in the next pictures you'll find an ugly "Top Secret" sticker covering it. I apologize for this inattention.
The watch holders are very easy to be operated, I'd even say they're fool-proof. Moreover: their robustness is comforting and all of the parts that come in contact with the watch are smooth, to avoid any scratch. Please notice the quite elegant black leather interior.
Other two home shots: this time the watch winder is on a living room's small table (near a ceramic lamp from Caltagirone) and on the dinner room's server (near to two ceramic "testa di moro" from Caltagirone).
It's time to test the watch winder. It works!
Finally, the last shot, with an auspicious elephant with raised trunk, from Murano.
This watch winder is a beautiful and very well-made object, but - above all - it's a much appreciated gift from my favourite watch forum and my favourite internet community: PuristSPro. Thank you Ping, thank you Bulgari, thank you PuristSPro!
Ciao,
Elio
