India Whiskey Charlie introduces the Sero Watch Company's debut model, the Signature, a new dress watch from Dutch collectors Sergino and Robert. This article explores how their collector-first approach shaped a timepiece focused on classical elements and wearability, offering a fresh perspective on mid-century Calatrava-style aesthetics. India Whiskey Charlie's detailed overview highlights the brand's commitment to subtle design nuances and traditional horological values.

Sero Watch Company, a new watch brand from the Netherlands founded by collectors Sergino and Robert, introduces its debut model: the Signature .

As collectors first and foremost, the founders approached the development of the Signature from that same perspective. Over the course of nearly four years, the watch was shaped not around trends or positioning, but around what they themselves value in a well-executed dress watch.

The result is a restrained, modern interpretation of mid-century Calatrava-style watches, with subtle influences from traditional deck watches. Rather than focusing on reinvention, the design centres on proportion, balance, and the careful execution of classical elements.

The 37.5 mm stainless steel case has been developed with an emphasis on wearability and profile, combining polished and brushed surfaces to create subtle contrast without visual excess. This is paired with a vertically brushed metallic dial, onto which the Breguet numerals are not printed but deeply engraved, giving the surface a more tactile, sculptural character as light interacts with the dial.

The hands follow the same philosophy. Rather than flat stamped forms, the spade hands are individually shaped and heat-blued, resulting in a more dimensional appearance that shifts tonally depending on the light.

At its core is the manually wound Sellita SW210-1 in Elaboré grade, selected for its reliability and traditional architecture, and visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback.

Key specifications:

37.5 mm stainless steel case with mixed finishing

Vertically brushed metallic dial with engraved Breguet numerals

                          Sculpted heat-blued spade hands

                          Swiss hand-wound Sellita SW210-1 (Elaboré)

                          Sapphire crystal and exhibition caseback

The Signature is currently being introduced through a presale phase, structured in tiers, with the first 150 pieces offered at €899, followed by a presale price of €999. The future retail price is set at €1,199. The presale is limited to a two-week period, after which production will proceed on a made-to-order basis.

Initial hands-on impressions and editorials have started to appear across established watch platforms.

Sero Watch Company has, up to this point, been primarily active within enthusiast communities such as Horlogeforum, Reddit, WatchUseek, and Instagram, where early discussions and impressions have already taken place.

The only thing that bothers me is the central second. I can't quite explain it, not sure if it's the shape that is too far from the minute and hour hands but I get the impression a small second may have worked better.

I find it very likable, it reminds me of Kikuchi Nakagawa’s or Kurono’s watches, but more affordable. I love it! Best. René

Thanks, I understand what you mean. We purposely did make a central seconds hands version to deviate from the usual. That being said, a lot of similar design/style watches with small seconds use the ETA 7001 or equivalent which has the subdial very close to the centre pinion which is why the balance looks of a lot of times in our opinion (that's why the best small seconds watches are either very small, very big (40mm +, or have inhouse movements). Thanks for your kind words though!

Thanks, appreciate that. KN is indeed a big inspiration for us and we did visualised to offer a similar look and feel without the price tag and waiting list. I hope we achieved something that accomplishes this.

Thanks, yes I know (and have owned the small seconds) the Longines. It's a very nice watch which with we share some common language. That being said we gave it our own spin and purposely hammered on details like proportion, restraint, sculpted spade hands and a max decorated Sellita handwinder which we feel is a must with this type of watch
