Clueless_Collector initiates a compelling discussion, revisiting a previous poll that compared Rolex sports models against a single Patek Philippe Nautilus. This time, the stakes are raised, pitting six highly desirable Rolexes against one rare Patek Philippe reference. The author invites the community to weigh in on this value-equivalent comparison, sparking a lively debate on collecting philosophies.

If members were to choose between 4 Rolex sports model vs 1 Nautilus (since both sides are “equivalent” in value), majority sided Rolex.

I promised Fab5119 that we can do a rematch and I suggested to put more Rolexes against 1 highly desirable Patek Philippe.

So here it...since I added a new Pepsi, let’s do this again.

If you have to choose these 6 Rolexes against ONLY 1 Patek Philippe, eg.  5131G/R/J, 5270G/R/J OR 1 of those specialty rare handcrafted 5077, which side do you prefer?

This time I posted this in Patek Philippe forum. Daytona 116500LN can be Black dial as well

Disclaimer: this is based on “equivalent” value so that is why no 5131P or Patek PPC Pt.

Happy Holidays.

About the Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 5077

The Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 5077 represents the manual-wind ladies' offering within the Calatrava collection. This 33.2mm reference was produced from 2005 to 2015, positioning it as a mid-2000s to mid-2010s interpretation of the dress watch format for women.

The 5077 features an 18k white gold case measuring 33.2mm in diameter with a smooth bezel and white dial. The watch employs sapphire crystal and offers 30-meter water resistance. Power comes from the manual-wind caliber 215 PS, providing 44 hours of power reserve. The timepiece is fitted with a leather strap.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking a ladies' mechanical dress watch from Patek Philippe's contemporary production era. The 33.2mm case size and manual-wind movement cater to those preferring traditional proportions and hand-wound calibers. The ten-year production run from 2005-2015 makes examples readily available in the pre-owned market for collectors focused on modern Patek Philippe ladies' timepieces.

except for 5270G...

i'll go with all Rolexes...the pleasure of variety goes long way than 1 watch...atleast for me (i think for many others too, as none of our fellow Purist would agree for an 'one-watch' collection)... happy x-mas & festive season !! Best, mahesh.,

I’ll give both sides credits since you mentioned except 5270G, so PP 2: Rolexes 1.

Unless you correct me...I know it’s hard but that’s the challenge 😊 Thank you.
