The author, 'One day just one watch,' shares a personal account of acquiring a Rolex Datejust 36 with a mint green dial, signaling a potential shift in the availability of Rolex watches. His experience, moving from frustration with 'exhibition only' models to receiving 'the call,' sparks a community discussion about market trends and the changing landscape of Rolex retail.
It has been over 6 months since my last post. Summer and autumn have come and gone and the last couple of days it was really cold in the Netherlands, as it is supposed to be in wintertime.
I have stopped going into Rolex dealers to ask what they have in stock. I find looking at watches which are “for exhibition only” quite frustrating so that’s why i have stopped going into stores that sell Rolex. A couple of weeks ago it was my birthday and i decided to give it a go and have a look for the new model Datejust 36 with the lovely green dial. They had one with the smooth bezel and i prefer the fluted bezel. And just a week after my visit i got a call if i was in the neighborhood and wanted to come to have a look at something…
And this is what they wanted to show me, and…i was able to buy it as well. So, maybe things are getting better for whoever wants to buy a Rolex, i sure hope so!
