Mark in Paris introduces the Richard Mille RM35-02 Rafael Nadal in Red Quartz-TPT, a significant evolution within the RM035 family. This post delves into the technical advancements and design choices that define this new model, particularly its automatic movement and use of innovative materials. Readers gain insight into how Richard Mille continues to push boundaries in high-performance watchmaking, especially for extreme sporting contexts.

The Richard Mille RM011 Flyback Chronograph Felipe Massa represents the brand's RM 011 series, distinguished by its flyback chronograph functionality within a 40mm case format. This reference was produced from 2007 to 2020, establishing it as a multi-year production model within Richard Mille's contemporary lineup.
The watch features a 40mm titanium case fitted with a fixed bezel and sapphire crystal. The skeletonized dial construction provides visibility of the internal components. The automatic RMAC1 caliber delivers 55 hours of power reserve, while water resistance extends to 50 meters. The timepiece is completed with a rubber strap.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking Richard Mille's flyback chronograph complications in a titanium construction. The 13-year production span from 2007 to 2020 makes examples readily available across different production periods. The 40mm case size and rubber strap configuration position this model for those prioritizing technical complications within Richard Mille's sports watch category.
Also the colour is loud enough to continue to get the attention of the commentators!
I didn't make the link with Rafael's citizenship as it uses the RM011 Red Quartz TPT unveiled earlier. Cheers, Mark
and the post quite naturally came discussing about a RM027 as the Rolland Garros Grand Slam is held at the same time. I thought at the time it had been only one year since the RM027-02 was launched so a little too soon to get a new model. It seems that the "Nadal" was indeed a RM035 (as you suggest in the other post Graham ). Cheers, Mark
I'm not convinced the rotor (even with it's adjustable nature) can withstand the shock. Every automatic I have worn playing tennis eventually gets damaged. Does anybody know if RM claims it can withstand the shock? I can't find it on the official site and only 3rd party sites are making the claim. Will be interesting if Nadal will be wearing it this week in Paris..
but I dont know why they changed the case size. the 35-02 tapers more but is thinner I like the chunky case of the 35-01 35-01 top, 35-02 bottom
But I don't think Nadal will use this one. I imagine he will keep his RM027-02 instead.
