Alkiro1 offers a visual tour of the Phillips Geneva Watch Auction exhibition, showcasing an array of exceptionally rare and historically significant timepieces. This post provides a unique opportunity to view watches from brands like A. Lange & Söhne, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, and Rolex, offering a glimpse into the world of high-end watch auctions.

Hi all,

I had the chance, this morning, to go to the Phillips auctioneer exhibition before the "Geneva Watch Auction" which will start next Saturday at 6pm.

Before beginning, a nice little and well known car in the exhibition room ;-)

It's a shame! Impossible to take a picture of all the beauties I saw knowing that in addition to the Phillips Geneva auction timepieces, a lot more exhibited will be auctioned late November in Hong Kong.

I'm also sorry for the bad quality of my pics :-(

Let's do it! Hope you will enjoy as I did

Lange Zeitwerk Luminous in platinum LE 100 pieces from 2010

Jaeger LeCoultre Geophysic from 1958

Vacheron Constantin 222 in steel from 1981

Rolex Antimagnetic in steel from 1940 with a wonderful salmon dial

Omega Speedmaster Professional "Alaska II" Project from 1970

Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona for Tiffany from 1978

Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Paul Newman from 1970

Rolex COMEX Submariner from 1984

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak steel/gold from 1986... #1 never worn

Breguet Triple Calendar in steel very unusual from 1948

Greubel Forsey

Pia thinks it was a top cool exhibition ;-)

Best wishes

About the Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513

The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 is a notable example within the Submariner line, distinguished by its two-line dial and lack of a date complication. Produced for an extended period, it represents a core offering for collectors seeking a straightforward and robust tool watch. Its design emphasizes legibility and functionality, aligning with the original purpose of the Submariner series. This reference is recognized for its consistent aesthetic throughout its production run, with subtle variations in dial text and bezel inserts.

The watch features a 40mm stainless steel Oyster case, offering durability and water resistance suitable for its intended use. Powering the reference 5513 is the automatic Caliber 1520 movement, known for its reliability. The crystal is acrylic, contributing to the vintage character of the watch. The unidirectional rotating bezel, typically with an aluminum insert, allows for elapsed time measurement.

For collectors, the reference 5513 is a significant model due to its long production history and the various dial iterations, such as gilt and matte dials, which present distinct collecting opportunities. Its appeal lies in its foundational design and its position as a non-date Submariner, making it a desirable piece for those who appreciate the model's original form. The watch is often paired with an Oyster bracelet, completing its functional aesthetic.

Will see the realised price soon for this timepiece (estimation between 15000 and 20000 CHF which is already not bargain for this watch I think) Best wishes Alkiro
