GLau's post captures a unique horological pilgrimage, bringing his Patek Philippe and Chopard lion enamel watches to meet their artistic inspiration: Henri Rousseau's 'The Dream' at MoMA. This personal journey highlights the profound connection collectors can feel to the artistry behind their timepieces, especially those featuring rare métiers d'art like grand feu enamel. His experience underscores how a watch can transcend mere timekeeping to become a portable piece of art with a rich narrative.

Did you travel to NYC just for this “family reunion “? Best, Volker
the lions could talk! very nice photos Gordon and nice to see your lion returning to its roots
suppose to fly to Toronto, but I left my family and flew redeye to New York to attend a few hours at the last day of the Patek Grand Exhibtion. After the visit and lunch with PuristS aloha Bab and Keith, I flew up to Toronto (after my original flight was cancelled !) to meet up with my family. It was a nightmare of a 24 hour trip but was well with it but had no time for MOMA. Second, Thereafter we went back to NY for a week and went to MOMA finally! Cheers, Gordon

I was already full of admiration in front of your pair (PP + Chopard) but did not know about the background... I was obviously missing a big part of the story ! Many thanks for bringing to my knowledge this beautiful amazing fantastic painting. I was already admiring your 2 watches (I have a sweet spot for the PP but I am biaised ) but now even more. Huge thanks for this wonderful inspiring post. Mike
