Hi fellow purists,

I have want to share some good news - recently I pulled the trigger on my dream watch ie the 5970g

I saw one in the past and couldn’t forget about how it looked and felt on the wrist.. so when the opportunity for the right piece came along, I didn’t hesitate.. In my opinion, it’s timepiece which is close to perfect

Below is a short review (and most of it are my personal preference and taste) :
- size and thickness : its perfect for my preference, 40mm x 13mm but wears like a very classical 38mm and doesn’t look overly thick - the case and lugs design pares down the overall size very well, very comfortable to wear too
- case : this must be one of Pateks most beautiful case designs - gorgeous with the flared lugs and curved case sides, ideally I would have preferred the calendar pushers to be neatly hidden but this is not possible with the curved case
- dial : very balanced and harmonious, legibility not an issue
- hands : hr and min hands are leaf shaped and very elegant (the running sec and chrono min hands are subtly leaf shaped too which is a nice little detail), the small leap year and 24hr hands are useful when you need it but they aren’t distracting at all, the discoloration on the hr and min hands gives the G a unique charm
- movement : finishing looks attached to my untrained eyes especially the “y” shape bridge which has inward angles, the size doesn’t look disproportionately small as it has been camouflaged by the decagon display case back, very practical to set with the pusher at 11 which advances all calendar indications by a day (not sure abt the mths advancing together since I have not tried that) - this is where the old lemania trumps the new inhouse despite the latter’s tech advances
