doublesix shares his journey to acquiring the highly coveted Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1P 40th Anniversary edition. His post highlights the excitement of finally obtaining a dream watch after a persistent search, offering a personal perspective on this significant acquisition.
Just wanted to share with you my good fortune to receive the 40th anniversary 5711. For several years I had been seeking the Boutique 5711/1P without any success. Then I tried to get the 40th Anniversary 5711 when it was first announced last year. To my dismay, my AD did not get any allocation for it and by March 2017, I had given up hope. Suddenly, I received a phone call from my AD in late June that one became available and whether I still want it? YES!!!!!
The 5711/1P is even more fabulous than I imagined it to be. The dial is mesmerizing at different light angles and the blue color is perfection. The inscription on the dial is very discreet in most light conditions and the baguette markers are very stealthy too. The weight feels great on my wrist.

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5711/1A is a specific configuration within the Complications model line. This particular reference is identified by its serial number 5914840, with a movement number 6084863.
The watch is presented in a stainless steel case, indicated by the "/1A" suffix. No specific details regarding the crystal material or movement architecture are provided.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking a Patek Philippe Complications model in stainless steel. Its specific serial and movement numbers are documented for identification purposes.
Glad to hear that your persistence has paid off, albeit a roller-coaster ride ! The up's and down's made your journey even more satisfying ! The 1A has a dial that is mesmerizing and plays well with the light ! On the other hand, IMO the P has an AMAZINGLY mesmerizing dial ! It truly has the Nauti "blue" color ! The diamond markers and inscription are so discreet that this watch is really designed for the owners who know what they have on their wrists. Enjoy this piece often ! Cheers, Gordon
seeing 5711P and A side by side illuminates the significant aesthetic differences. Congrats again
