Hashluck recounts the 'accidental' acquisition of a Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-010, a highly sought-after steel sports watch. This post delves into the immediate appreciation for its craftsmanship and timeless design, while also touching upon the collector's dilemma of unsealing a new acquisition and the practicalities of ownership.

as I have this to play with for now:
There are many people around who would love to face such an accident. This basic Nautilus is a very nice multi-purpose watch. I wear mine with jeans and sometimes with suit. I can't say how I would place 5711 compared with my 3712 and 5980 - anyhow, this watch is one of those "nice to have, good for everything" watches. Best, Kari
But, if it happened in a good way, why not? Congratulations.
... the "h" in hashluck to become "has luck" ! Enjoy your new wrist companion when it is unsealed. Remember to send wrist shots Cheers, Gordon
it looks better without plastik Glad you like it and happy to got it but I don't get how then you can keep it sealed It just looks ugly this way Best D
You'll be delighted and, concerning the scratch magnet effect, I've been wearing mine for a little more than 3 years now (half time) and yes it gets some hairlines and dings but I don't think more than other white metal watches. Of course the polished versus brushed (usually used for steel) is more fragile but compared to my white gold De Bethune I would say they look and wear the same (because of the polished surfaces). Enjoy it and please post when you unseal it! Cheers, Mark
Enjoy your lovely watch in the best of health Best, Ahmed
