This article explores the enduring appeal of the moon phase, a complication often celebrated more for its aesthetic and romantic qualities than its practical utility. The discussion highlights various interpretations of the moon phase across different brands and eras, offering a rich tapestry of collector preferences and insights.

Very different dial and I like the stars around way the moon complication.
very old gold painting from the modern models with the recent magazine vague outline but brilliant moon
I've always been enamoured with moon phase complications, despite their...shall we say...limited day-to-day utility. I sadly do not own any perpetuals at this time, but I do quite enjoy my one and only moon phase watch:
good calendar expert function and moon phase is poetic
Beautiful on phase watch you have there. The JLC enamel dial with the moon phase is one of my favorites. I had a choice of the chrono version etc but being limited to 200, and the moon phase being one of my favorite (useless) complications made my pice for me. Thank you for positing the beautiful ALS...Jim
Has stolen the show and rightfully so , it is a VERY romantic watch. Fab I love the Calatrava annual calendar you have also. And yes the PP Salmond dial is my favorite albeit I love them all...Jim
