Happy new year everyone!  I have a little challenge for you below.  Which watch is heavier, the Rolex 75th anniversary platinum or the 5976 40th anniversary in white gold?… Jim

About the Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5976

The Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5976/1G-001 was released in 2016 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus collection. This reference stands out within the Nautilus line for its enlarged case dimensions, offering a more contemporary presence while retaining the collection's distinctive porthole-inspired design.

Crafted in 18K white gold, the watch features a monobloc case with a diameter of 44mm (10-4 o'clock) and a thickness of approximately 12.9mm. It is powered by the self-winding mechanical caliber 324 S C, visible through a sapphire-crystal case back, offering a power reserve of 35-45 hours. The dial is blue with a horizontal embossed pattern, featuring baguette and brilliant-cut diamond hour markers.

As an anniversary edition, the Ref. 5976/1G-001 holds particular significance for collectors, representing a specific moment in the Nautilus's history. Its limited production and unique design elements, including the anniversary inscription on the dial, contribute to its desirability and position within the secondary market.

Good morning everyone, thank you for participating in my challenge. The Daytona is 9 3/8 ounces while the Nautilis 5976 is 10 1/8 ounces so that Patek wins out. The 5976 is really a monster of a watch, it’s 44 mm versus 40 mm for the Platium Daytona and the bracelet matches the size of the 5976 as well. Even with its considerable weight and size, the 5976 wears very well on my 6 3/4 inch wrist but the Daytona is the watch I wear as one of my regulars and it is the only Rolex I will wear, 5976 is
