I actually did get a chance to try on a Cubitus the other day. It was not so bad in the metal! A nice watch, not an abomination like I'd thought from pictures, but still very very clearly a lesser watch than the 5711.

Both are cool

steel sports watches. I’m sure the Cubitus will have its moment too in the future. I think I’d get the Cubitus now, its design looks more modern.

I have one like this and enjoy it. No spare funds for a Cubitus. The Cubitus is definitely better than its initial reputation. For those who understand French here is a very interesting link to a YouTube
