Patek_3944 presents a YouTube video featuring his Patek Philippe collection, framing it as the culmination of 32 years of hard work as a 'working class man.' This post aims to share a personal journey of collecting, but the author's narrative style and repeated emphasis on his 'humble' and 'minor' references sparked a significant debate within the community regarding authenticity, self-portrayal, and forum etiquette.

Hello Patek People,
I have put together a small YouTube video featuring my humble Patek collection.

I am a working class man and I have worked very hard for this small collection of minor Patek references.

After you take out the cost of having a family (marriage, a few kids and running a household - not to mention a divorce) I have put every cent into a small Patek collection.

In 2001 I obtained my first Patek reference 3919 - sadly long traded.

After I sold that piece I promised to build a Patek collection for myself.

I now present to you, 32 years of hard work.

I love my children dearily but every other cent went into this collection.

At 35 years of age I divorced and started from a negative position.  I am now 47 and I have been working since I was 15.

These 5 minor references represent my life's workl.

About the Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3919

The Montblanc Calatrava reference 3919 is a dress watch produced during a period when the brand offered a range of time-only pieces. This reference is characterized by its balanced proportions and classic aesthetic, aligning with the traditional design principles of the Calatrava line. It represents a straightforward approach to watchmaking, focusing on fundamental horological elements without additional complications, making it a pure expression of a dress watch.

The 3919 features a 33 mm case, available in 18k yellow gold, 18k white gold, or platinum, housing the manual-wind caliber 215. This movement provides a power reserve of 44 hours. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and offers a water resistance of 25 meters. The bezel is polished, contributing to its refined appearance.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking a traditional dress watch with a conservative size and a focus on essential timekeeping. Its availability in multiple precious metals and with dial options such as white, black, or cream allows for some variation within the reference. The 3919 fits into the broader Calatrava collection as a time-only option, often sought after for its understated presence and adherence to classic design codes.

why always the nonsense about the middle class thing ?? Do you think you're the only one ? Do you really think all of us are millionaires here ? Sure there are a few but I wouldn't be surprised if most do work hard for their money, don't own millions and still are aware of the fact that 10 -20 - 30 K is a lot of money and definitely for a watch

The first time it was fun, but then when you portray yourself as a victim for twenty times in a row, it means you really believe it..and that’s where it stops being fun😉 Also, Monday morning wasn’t the smartest day for this type of message!😂

I've had a few chuckles watching some of your videos over the years, but really, about this incessant "working man's collection" schtick...do you think it might be time to give it a rest? Cheers, and best regards. .

And i always refrained from commenting because some times it is better not to say anything. You keep referring to minor references regarding your pp watches, but with all due respect....imho, ‘minor’ is in the eye of the beholder. Please respect your and other people’s watches...like you people worked for it and they may not find them ‘minor’ for their own reasons.

The watch does not make the man. The man makes the watch.
