Thanks to Julien Dubois aka @chefs_d_oeuvre_horlogers, we finally have real photos of the latest Minute Repeater from Patek Philippe: the reference 7047G-001.

The modern design features a 38 x 10.24 mm white gold case and a navy blue dial distinguished by a centrally embossed carbon pattern.

There are three types of finishing on the dial:

  • snailed inner minute scale,
  • circular satin-finished hour circle
  • and sunburst outer minute scale.

This dynamic sporty style is reinforced by the contrasting orange elements:

  • The varnished small seconds hand.
  • The transferred triangle hour-markers.
  • The stitching and lining on the fabric-patterned navy blue composite strap.

The watch is powered by self-winding caliber R 27 PS.

I'm just adding three renderings in order to show, first of all, the luminescent hands and hour markers.

Secondly the minute repeater slide.

And finally, the white gold prong buckle.

Of course, the essential element is missing, since you'd need to be able to hear the watch chime.

Nevertheless, what do you think of this timepiece from an aesthetic point of view?

Do you like the combination of one of the most traditional and prestigious complications with a deliberately sporty and informal aesthetic?

Personally, this aesthetic, rooted in motorsport, doesn't really appeal to me, but I must admit that the watch is not without its charm.

For comparison, you can check the other pieces belonging to the same design familyPatek Philippe Calatravas ref. 5000/6000.

Thanks for looking.

Best, Emmanuel

Thank you, Emmanuel. I like it, despite a bit unorthodox. The outline is clean and simple.

My pleasure, Henry.

This style doesn't speak to me, but the execution seems well done. Best, Emmanuel

What a beautiful watch.

I can do without the orange though. Would prefer something a little more muted in color. Not sure what color to replace the orange with right now though😁

I'm sure the orange looks more subdued in real life.

Photos tend to accentuate colors and renders even more. Best, Emmanuel

I hear you, Emmanuel.

I’d never be able to afford it in retirement anyway πŸ˜‚

I do not necessarily like movements where the balance wheel is obstructed

So it would be an absolute no from me. But I agree that the watch in his whole is coherent in style (for the ones that like this sporty style) Dirk
