The Wellingtonian's post celebrates the arrival of the latest Patek Philippe Rare Handcrafts book in the Southern Hemisphere, a highly anticipated event for collectors. This thread offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of Patek Philippe's most exclusive creations and the unique challenges and strategies involved in acquiring them. It also features an initial impression of the Patek Philippe Ref. 6007G-001.

The cars on the other hand seem a bit slow to reach the destination 😁😁. Got to see the news 6007g blue in the flesh as well - boy it is a good looking watch!

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 6007

The Patek Philippe reference 6007 is a contemporary Calatrava model, distinguished by its unique aesthetic that diverges from the more traditional interpretations of the line. It was introduced as a limited edition to commemorate the inauguration of Patek Philippe's new manufacturing building in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva. This reference showcases a sportier and more modern design language compared to its predecessors, appealing to collectors interested in Patek Philippe's evolving design philosophy within its classic collections. Its design elements, such as the dial texture and strap, set it apart within the Calatrava family.

The watch features a round case crafted from stainless steel, a material less common for Patek Philippe's Calatrava line, especially for commemorative editions. It houses an automatic movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case back. The dial is characterized by a distinctive texture, often described as a carbon-fiber pattern, and features applied Arabic numerals. The sapphire crystal protects the dial, ensuring clarity and durability.

This reference holds particular interest for collectors who appreciate commemorative pieces and those seeking a Calatrava with a contemporary edge. Its limited production run and specific celebratory context contribute to its collectibility. The 6007 represents a moment in Patek Philippe's history, marking a significant operational milestone while offering a fresh take on a foundational model.

Still waiting on Geneva to print a few copies of the 2020-21 Volume for Italy (it has my "School of Fish" in it! ) and then my RH book collection is complete! Cheers.

I must try and get a copy. More importantly how do collectors get the ability to own these rare handcrafted models each year. I have 3 Pateks, all from my AD. Do you have to achieve a certain volume to gain access or is it just relationships?

I believe you recently received a beautiful Grand Complication, a Nautilus, and also a very popular Calatrava, all via official channels. Given this, even if I can't speak for your AD (they would need to support your application, and might or might not have to make choices among their clients), in my opinion it DOES make sense for you to at least show interest for a Rare Handcraft I try to make a live announcement every year as the moderator of this forum when Patek sends me the Rare Handcraft m

I need to go back and thank my AD for the nautilus anyway so will add the book request to the list!

I agree with everything you’ve said here. These books are reference material. And the quality of printing is amazing.
