Did a post earlier wondering if the 5167R would look ok on straps other than the OEM rubbers and after some considerations, I placed an order for the CF python strap. The choice of python was to have variations in the strap color as it really depends on which part of the hide CF chose but that’s also where I have mixed feelings coz it’s highly dependent on CF then.

Strap is finally here and unfortunately, it didn’t have enough of the dark patches to get the variation I desired. Think it didn’t turned out well after all.

As a python lover myself (I have no straps, but many, many belts! ;-) I don't think it looks bad, though as you say darker tones perhaps will match the case color a tad better...

Maybe try not to change it for a while and see if you get used to it though -- it's nonetheless a strap that displays character and is not too far from your original intentions....However, as I said in another thread, it might be hard to beat the original Patek rubber strap for this model! ;-) Cheers.

I see now what you were going for in terms of a light/dark mix that matches the case/dial interaction.

And while the hide pieces didn’t have enough darker spots, it still does look amazing and unique. Nicely done and thank you for sharing this sharp combination.

Sorry I have to disagree...

...imho it looks stunning. To be honest I was very sceptical when you asked the question about other options but the rubber strap, as I am a big fan of the rubber one but now I realise what you were having in mind. The variation of colours obviously differs from one python strap to the other and it could have been darker also why not, but just as it is it looks really great to me. Since you seem to already have experience with python skin for straps or other men’s accessories don’t you think tha
