So most will know I am not the biggest fan of Worldtime pieces, although I do have several, since I just prefer Chronographs and other functions. I even prefer a GMT or Dualtime piece since I find it easier than a Worldtime.

Already owning the 5575G (Rainbow Moon) WT, I didn't see myself wanting or needing another. But when a good friend and horological brother offers you an Ice Queen, what can you do ?  Honestly, if this was a G, J, or R I most likely would have politely declined BUT knowing Anita Porchet and her team do the P series for this 5131P, that really pushed me over the edge.

I am a HUGE fan of Anita, ever since her early days with Jaquet Droz, and in fact still have a couple pieces from that era. My Romain Gauthier Logical One also has a dial done by Anita so having this connection just made it a much easier decision than expected.

Enough jibby jabba, she is a beauty

I just noticed something when I put it on this morning. It was on an alligator strap prior and I had Patek change it back to the platinum bracelet. I guess the young watchmaker didn't notice that the endlinks were reversed 🤣🤣. One endlink has a cutout for the Wesselton diamond at 6 but sadly the watchmaker put it at 12 🤣🤪🤦‍♂️. Not a big deal and will get rectified the next chance I get to visit a salon but I spit out my tea laughing when I noticed !!  Even my wife laughed 😅

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5131

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5131 is a World Time model, distinguished by its cloisonné enamel dial depicting a map of the world. This reference is part of a series that showcases Patek Philippe's expertise in both horological complications and traditional decorative arts, offering a functional travel watch with significant aesthetic appeal. It represents a continuation of the brand's long-standing tradition of producing World Time watches, updated with contemporary design elements and a self-winding movement. The 5131 is recognized for its intricate dial work, which varies depending on the specific metal and region depicted.

The watch features a 39.5mm case, available in various precious metals, housing the self-winding Caliber 240 HU. This movement provides a power reserve of 48 hours and drives the World Time complication, allowing the wearer to simultaneously view the time in 24 different time zones. The case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, ensuring durability and clear visibility of the detailed dial. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, suitable for everyday wear. The fixed bezel frames the intricate dial, contributing to the watch's refined profile.

As a World Time model with a cloisonné dial, the 5131 appeals to collectors who appreciate both technical sophistication and artisanal craftsmanship. Its limited production and the unique hand-finished nature of each dial contribute to its desirability within the secondary market. The reference fits into Patek Philippe's Complications collection as a high-end travel watch, offering a distinctive alternative to more traditional time-only or chronograph models. Variants typically involve different precious metal cases and corresponding enamel map depictions.

You made the right choice!

That is the big daddy of the WT, expertly created dial, platinum case and bracelet and nice connection to your other pieces. Funny they messed up the end links 🤣🤣 thanks for sharing.

Sincere congrats Justin, a great addition to your superb collection!👍 By far my favorite modern Patek WT (in fact, the only one I ever asked Patek! ;-), and a truly remarkable way to wrap up the iconic 5131 in-catalog series from 2017-2021!

I just hope your friend gave you a “fair” price (market values, like for many other Pateks, are obviously above retail), but it’s indeed a gorgeous WT that I believe EVERY good collector should consider! And yes, as the only Rare Handcraft *ever* produced (to date) with a Platinum bracelet….you made the right choice to put it back on immediately!😄 Thanks for sharing with the forum my friend, and I hope you’ll enjoy this exquisite Patek!!👍🥂

Awesome piece. Congrats on adding it to your superb collection!

And well done on your reaction to the bracelet end-piece mistake. I think I would have been upset...you took it in stride and with good humor

You have to laugh my friend. Life is full of things which could be disappointing, irritating, etc...we have to accept them and move on. Believe me, I have seen so much worse 🤣
