KIH offers a rare side-by-side comparison of two highly coveted Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronographs: the Ref. 5970J and the diamond-set Ref. 5971P. This post provides an intimate look at how these distinct references present themselves in different settings, sparking a discussion among collectors about their aesthetic preferences and the allure of each model.
But for day business, 5970J, and at evening party with black tie, 5971P, perhaps.... I could use both, heh

The Patek Philippe Complications reference 5970 is a specific iteration within the Complications model line. This reference is available in white metal, specifically platinum, and also in rose gold.
The case material for this reference can be platinum or rose gold. The collector notes a preference for platinum due to its weight, exclusivity, and durability.
This reference appeals to collectors who prefer white metals for dress watches, with platinum being a primary choice and rose gold a close second. Its availability in these materials positions it for those seeking specific precious metal options within the Complications collection.
picture is my favorite one. The 5970J looks perfect on that wrist, in that combination and proofs good taste by the owner. But who is the smart boy taking pictures, shown in the window :-) Cheers, Oliver PS: Converting is not that bad ... and it does not hurt - depending on the specific watch :-)
I did notice that the day/date seemed current for the 5970J, but that may just be because the 5971P was operating on a different plane altogether! :)
I very much like the 5970J. :)
... YG, PG watches look very nice on him..... So, I MAY be converting :-) Or, am I getting old? Ken
... the owner of 5971P has too many watches and he doesn't adjust the date, but only the time, when he chooses the watch of the day, while the new owner of 5970J has been using it for a few days and LOVE to wear almost everyday and all are adjusted as it should be :-) And I am just a bystander taking pics drooling.... Ken
... I wonder why PP made so few Js for this model.... Ken
