Initial thoughts from the press pictures weren’t encouraging, but when seeing it for real and putting it on the wrist, it’s absolutely amazing. The Cubitus finally clicked for me in this perpetual calendar execution. The 45mm platinum case sounds imposing on paper, yet it wears far more comfortably than expected, helped by its slim 10mm profile. There’s a reassuring heft to it, though—platinum always reminds you it’s there in the best possible way.

What really won me over is the dial. The skeletonisation isn’t just decorative—it’s thoughtfully executed so that the architecture of the front mirrors exactly what’s happening on the back. You can genuinely see through the watch, with the movement and dial perfectly aligned in structure. It feels intentional, almost architectural, rather than ornamental.

The monochrome rhodium finish gives it a modern, almost industrial edge, contrasted subtly by the blued screws and details. The oversized moonphase at the center is mesmerizing, and I love that it mimics the display first seen in the reference 5575G—it gives it both presence and a sense of lineage. It’s far more poetic and engaging than traditional apertures.

On the wrist, it feels like a bold statement piece, yet unmistakably refined. This is one of those watches that completely changes your perspective once experienced in person.

This looks much nicer in these pictures than the release pics.

Thank you for your detailed impressions. I will be seeing in person this week myself and expect to have some constructive criticism in comparison. By way of skeletonization, I can’t help but compare to the standards set by AP and VC, especially in their perpetual calendar pieces. Against that standard, this piece to some extent [briefly] makes me wonder what are they hiding behind that fence as opposed to wowing me like AP and more so VC do with their masterful demonstrations. I’m sure I’ll like

Indeed an interesting dial! 👍🏻 And surely beautifully executed, it’s a PP! However, the case will never win me over… 🤷🏼‍♂️

I agree. Haters are gonna hate.

But the cubitus is actually a killer in person. I can’t wait to see this one.
