Hello everyone, my name is Al (my nickname which I developed in school, which is also my hard-to-pronounce birth name initials). I want to say THANK YOU for all the wonderful information I gleaned from this site. I am on a number of the other sites as well. I have been registered on the site for a while but was a reader only, not an active participant. But I wanted to change that.

My apologies for the poor pictures taken in haste with my phone

Boring old box, what could we have here?

Less boring VERY HEAVY box, what could we have here?

WHAT??? EMPTY? IS THIS A TRICK? OK calm down, no no, there is another small cardboard box with some plastic in it on the side it seems.

Oooh! Still looks good even with the plastic covering it up.

But it belongs on a wrist, not in plastic! Here we go:

Wait, what color is this dial again? it can't seem to make up its mind

See what I mean? Keeps changing on me! smile

I love the lume on my Panerais. .Can this come close? Not bad! Color me impressed.

Thanks for viewing! And thank you everyone who has helped me in this journey (both via email replies and unknowingly with very helpful posts).

Grateful,
Al

I totally agree that this watch, as any other watch, belongs to a wirst, not to its seal. And totally concur with the fact that the dial is one of the major assets of the 5711. Captivating. Truly. What pictures cannot tell, Reality expresses it with brio. Best, Nicolas
