This is not my watch, but it has been on my wrist all day. It is a dream to wear. Obviously, it has been posted on a number of occasions and also some excellent reviews. Technically, I cannot add to those reviews. What I can add, however, is my personal experience of the watch and just what is so special with it.

For me, this watch is all about its aesthetics. The black dial contrast with the white gold case. The contrast of the moon on the inner disc with the almost "night sky" star-like nature of the outer disc.

This watch is an aesthetic bomb.

I am a fan of Patek, for sure. Yet, most of my collection comes from the vintage era. The two exceptions are the 5070 and 5110......which of course are no longer in production by some years. Yet, this 5575 would qualify for me as one of the most appealing watches to wear...one of the most appealing from the modern era.

I absolutely love it.....because on the wrist, it is just a bomb. It is impossible to avoid staring at it. Its dial is a total fascination.

Yes......this is one I love.

About the Patek Philippe Ref. 5070

The Patek Philippe reference 5070, part of the Complications collection, marked a significant return for the brand to large-format chronographs. Introduced in 1998, it was the first non-perpetual calendar chronograph produced by Patek Philippe since the reference 1463, which ceased production in the early 1960s. Its design drew inspiration from a unique Patek Philippe aviator's watch from the 1940s, characterized by its prominent case and dial layout, yet reinterpreted for a contemporary audience. This reference established a new aesthetic direction for the brand's chronographs, moving towards more substantial case dimensions.

The watch features a 42mm case, initially offered in 18k yellow gold, housing the manual-winding Caliber CH 27-70. This movement, based on a Nouvelle Lémania ébauche, was extensively finished and modified by Patek Philippe, meeting the brand's stringent quality standards. It provides a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. The dial, in this specific configuration, is black, protected by a sapphire crystal, and the watch is water-resistant to 30 meters. The fixed bezel frames the dial, and the watch is typically fitted with a leather strap.

Reference 5070 appeals to collectors interested in modern Patek Philippe chronographs that combine traditional movement architecture with a more contemporary case size. Its limited production run and the subsequent introduction of variants in other precious metals contribute to its collectibility. The reference represents a distinct period in Patek Philippe's chronograph history, bridging vintage inspirations with a new era of larger watch designs.

yet. I have been a bit too greedy with new watches this year and thus, this one is still unused in a watch winder in the safe. Her turn will come a bit before next full moon and I can tell my impressions then. What I have noticed is that the design of the case is absolutely beautiful and even the different winding crown gives a nice touch. Are you planning to acquire this one? Best, Kari PS. Very nice photos

I bought this year 8 Pateks and two remains still unworn. I somehow got even crazier and will pick up two more in two weeks - the watches are paid and I'm waiting like a small child waiting for a candy to see them. Anyhow, I hope that next year will be easier. If nothing absolutely superb will be introduced in Basel, I will get just three new pieces and two of those just in the end of the year. But let's see... There is one watch I would love to buy but the best answer I got from Patek was: "I d

However the reports from wearers of this fine piece seem to love this watch even more. What I am getting from wearers is that pictures do not do it justice Joe, I hope you get your wish and add this magnificent piece to your collection. You , like myself tend towards vintage but PP somehow lures us into their world of new watches Best wishes Julian
