KIH shares a unique celebration, contrasting the acquisition of a Patek Philippe Ref. 5550 with the experience of a rare Romanee Conti 1991 wine. This post delves into the ephemeral joys of fine wine versus the lasting pleasure of a luxury timepiece, offering a philosophical take on collecting and life's most exquisite moments.

With such bottle! Thanks Ken! Fx
.. for most of us.... (funny when I think some of them spend 100s of 1000s of dollars for one watch but still extremely awed by perhaps 10K wine bottles :-)) Ken
I can imagine the evening atmoshpere with three forms of art: watchmaking, gastronomy and oenology. I can also easily understand that, for such a night, one single element musn't come over the others as they should all be equally mixed together. Congratulations to your friend and thanks for sharing the event Ken. Cheers, Mark
wine is sustenance like bread and vegetables so i dont want to pay a fortune for something you will enjoy, but wont have in the morning. i'm just a normal guy who enjoys off the shelf wine, the stuff you can afford to buy 6 bottles of for a night in with family and really dont understand why people pay so much for a bottle of wine. still looks nice though :) G.
.. we called it "once in a life time night", we don't usually drink such expensive wines.... :-) Ken
.. just by chance there came an opportunity such wine and yes, that was a great evening. Guys talking about watches, works, foods, wine, etc.... Thank you! Ken
