GLau's post provides a captivating look into the Patek Philippe World Time Ref. 5531, focusing on its exquisite enamel dials and the artistry of Anita Porchet. This discussion highlights the significance of the 'AP' signature on these dials and invites collectors to share their personal preferences among the various motifs. It's a valuable exploration for anyone interested in Patek Philippe's rare métiers d'art timepieces.

The Patek Philippe Reference 5531 is distinguished as a World Time Minute Repeater, a highly complex combination of two of Patek Philippe's signature complications. It was initially introduced as a limited edition, highlighting both the brand's technical prowess in horology and its artistic application of métiers d'art, specifically cloisonné enamel work on the dial, depicting urban landscapes.
The case of the 5531 measures 40.20 mm in diameter and 11.49 mm in thickness, crafted in rose gold. It is powered by the self-winding Caliber R 27 HU, an integrated movement that allows the minute repeater to chime the local time as indicated by the world time function. The watch features a sapphire crystal.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking Patek Philippe's high complications combined with unique artistic dials. The initial release in 2017 featured two distinct cloisonné enamel dial variants, each depicting a Manhattan skyline, one in a daytime scene and the other at night, further enhancing its exclusivity and collector appeal within the grand complication series.
for sharing the very interesting article full of information. Of course, having Anita Porchet's signature is a major bonus and almost a "must-have". Concerining the 5531, I happen to like the maps more than the landscapes: my personal favorite would be the Geneva map, ref. 5531R-015 with the "hidden" AP signature. But my favorite world time references with enamel painting would be a 605, a 1415 or a 2523. 605 1415 2523 Best, Emmanuel
Thank you my friend for this damn beautiful and poisoning post 😍😍 but I’m not sure if I should thank you… This is a very effective poison 🙈… For the time being I think I shall first enjoy the new baby that has joined my stable before I can think of getting any other one…Really nice and interesting post which comes right on time to celebrate my new one…😉
Patek enamel pieces are definitely something else, specially those signed by A.P. Interesting what you mentioned about 2026 5531 enamel being now crafted by a different team, do you know why? Have a great weekend!
too confusing 😂 For you, the "AP" signature is very important !
what reference is your new baby 🤱?
full capacity at Anita's atelier ? I think now she has 2 full time staff and 2 part time only. Other brands also like to hire Anita and her team.
