These 2 are legends for those who collect amagnetic and or manual winding chronometers.

Two signatures, " amagnetic " and " Chronomètre ".

Two great brands, Patek and Jaeger.

Two great references as well.

The Geophysic has the advantage of being ALSO a Chronometer, the Patek has a better decorated movement.

Both are 35 mm big.

Both are highly desirable.

One is more macho, maybe, while the other, the Patek, is more refined. Two characters!
Best,

Nicolas

your post gives me chance to ask...

How did their amagnetic properties compare? Geophysic 1958 tribute has 600 gauss protection (less than the modern milgauss, but I do not know what the original rolex milgauss was, but it was not 1000 gauss either!), which I believe is same as the original. And I do not know what the Patek protection was. Can you fill in all the blanks? Thanks, Nico... And parenthetically, are small second movements somehow easier to manufacture/service than central seconds? Do you think the Patek small seconds m

Two great watches with two totally different price points now. Vintage Patek's continue to command a different rate of growth to other manufacturers and I have often wondered why this is,

especially considering that JLC one made the movements for all of the holy trinity..

Those dials and especially the way the names are printed are quite unique

They have this charm I like a lot and they are definitely models that find a nice place in a collection of both brands. Thanks for the pics Nicolas. Best, Mark
