To show the superb aesthetics of this watch: The Pam 557 is a 372 Destro. So, those who cannot stay insensible to the charm of the 372 may well also fall in love with the 557. With this question: Is it worth getting both of them? Anyway, the case is really something. We most often see front and back

Anyway, the case is really something. We most often see front and back shots, rarely its profile.

A pity...

This watch is a monster of sensuality.

One question remains, though: Is it worth getting both of the 557 and the 372?

I think there is better to do: PAM 372 OR 557 AND 587.  wink

What do you think?

Best,

Nicolas

About the Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Ref. PAM372

The Panerai PAM372 is a Luminor 1950 model that draws inspiration from historical Panerai designs, particularly those from the 1950s. It is distinguished by its clean, two-hand dial layout and the absence of a small seconds sub-dial, which emphasizes its vintage aesthetic. This reference was part of a series that aimed to reintroduce classic Panerai elements to a contemporary audience, focusing on simplicity and historical accuracy in its presentation. It represents a direct link to the brand's heritage, offering a less complicated display than many of its counterparts.

The watch features a 47mm polished steel case, characteristic of early Panerai models, fitted with a 3mm thick Plexiglass crystal. It houses the in-house developed manual-wind Calibre P.3000, which provides a substantial power reserve of three days. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back, allowing for appreciation of its construction. The large crown guard, a signature Luminor feature, ensures water resistance and protects the winding crown.

For collectors, the PAM372 is notable for its faithful recreation of historical design cues, including the "sandwich" dial construction and the use of Plexiglass, which contributes to its vintage appeal. Its limited production run and adherence to traditional Panerai proportions make it a sought-after reference among enthusiasts who value the brand's origins. The watch appeals to those seeking a direct connection to Panerai's past without modern embellishments.

... as the new series comes with the tapered Calf Assolutamente 26/22 strap... and who knows, perhaps pretty soon with sapphire crystal as opposed to Plexiglass! "The horror, the horror..." But if one is a serious Panerai enthusiasts, having all three would be the cat's meow Cheers my friend, Kamy

There's no doubt that everybody, in words, love them. There's a romantic/exotic aura surrounding them but, when it comes to ACTUALLY buying them on, there are precious few takers. There are more destros bought by neophites then by main stream Paneristis. As for my personal opinion, I don't have 372/557 because I have the combo 127/217 which I like a bit more and which, from the collection point of view, make more sense being 2 Unique Editions Nico, what's the connection between 372/557 and 587?

I hesitated a "long" time on both models and decided to get them both, which I don\'t regret at all. I notice that I wear the 557 more then the 372, a bit more comfortable since I tend to wear my watches very low on my small wrist and the crown guard is not scratchy on my hand then. Anyhow, both are classics IMHO and will remain so for many years, as of 2016 the plexi is replaced by crystal on the 372 so I\'m sure the 557 will get the same facelift soon.
